As odd as it sounds, going by the mall was a pretty straight forward way to get back to the hotel from Golden Gate Park. Market Street by Union Square is the end of many of the bus lines we were using.
Unfortunately, you gotta cruise around this neighborhood. I was a big target for glad-handers and bums. Walking with a dSLR and a map is not the way to go unnoticed.
Everyone was enjoying the holiday spirit. Ice skating, winter bands, and a Israel protest. The protest was a couple days later, but you get the picture. Enjoy, jon
