Green Macro

Green Macro

I do miss my super macro zoom.  When you can shoot with depth of field of an object that is less than an inch by an inch, you know you have an awesome macro.  Plus, green is cool.  I am worried about this one on a white background, it makes the shot bleed off, when it works much better with a border or off color behind it. This is another fun one, do you know what is in this picture?

Enjoy,

jon

Foreground Focus

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Depth of field is one of my favorite camera toys.  I have gotten back to using it after my camera with the wicked macro died and I cannot focus as closely on the flower.  In the end, I am happier being forced to be more composition minded and less macro minded.  Thanks, jon

P.S. I'm likely going to post a macro shot tomorrow.

Valley View

Valley View

Just a  valley view.  I always enjoyed the end of the antenna looking thing on top of the building.  Something about the way that part of the pic works with the sky.  Enjoy, jon

Chocolate

Chocolate

Though I thoroughly enjoy this picture of the worlds larges chocolate fountain, I am likely posting it because I took it in the last week.  Haven't had a chance to figure out why I don't like it yet, so here it is. Thanks, jon

First Snow

P1010008

We had are first day of snow this year.  Always reminds me of Colorado, skiing, and winter.   Most of it has already melted, and near the lake it never stuck at all. Doesn't make it any less grand that Winter has begun.

Chihuly

      Chihuly

Taking a picture of one's favorite sculpture artist is always a disappointment. Yet I still try. It seems without having the immensity of the work, its depth of color, a picture fails.  But, I try anyway.  I'm happy with this shot, but not as happy as seeing it in person.

Break

The ragged wood and polished stone grabbed my eye. Unfortunately I didn't have my own camera, but borrowing one is just as good I guess.

Tula's

Tula

A cafe I have never been in, nor do I know if it is still open.  Just caught this great reflection on an afternoon walk.

Thanks,

Day Sail

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

On the way into Willmette harbor.  It was a rather gorgeous day.  We may have even won the race.  Though eventually taking my camera out sailing would claim it's life.  Now I only have one camera. So sad.

Moments

Nana Kusa

Commemorating time with pictures.  It seems that is how we use our toys the most often.  Though I spent a undoubtedly extensive amount of time on this picture for what I got out, I think it celebrates more than time.  It celebrates the act, of enjoying my little bit of art.   Plus, I think it's a great advertisement.

Capturing the Spirit

Sushi Kat

On very very rare occasions one gets to capture a picture of how they feel about a subject.  This time I accomplished that in my eyes.  Not that I expect anyone else to understand how I feel, or how I think that I caught it. Thanks, jon
