Geometric Precursor

Repeating patterns, a photographer's favorite.  This is just a precursor to our recent trip to Chicago.  But, before then there is graduation, the smokies, the mammoth caves, a couple of walks and everything in between the now of this picture and the now of today.

MAM

An oft shot museum.  The crown jewel of our glorious lakefront.  Completely out of place next to the war memorial.  Personally, I like an aspirational city.  A city that has a healthy fear of the future.  Sometimes I fault the city for thinking Calatrava would do for Milwaukee what Ghery did for Balboa.  But, if you ain't tryin' you must be dyin'

Signage

I really enjoy the various signage about town. Some seem so purposeless, some too utilitarian, and some funny. I didn't see a door behind this sign, and for the life of me couldn't figure out wher the stairway was. Further, it reminds me of the dramatically more intersting "stairway to heaven". How anticlimatic would that be... you kick the bucket and all you see is a sign "stairay to roof".

Morning editorializing

This bus stop would like to let you know that cardboard is insufficient for your daily roofing needs. I wonder what the cardboard industry has to say about that.

Low resolution

Well, looks to me like both the resolution is too low and the pic too small to make this work. Back to the old fashion way of writing a month in advance.

Where I now work

Well, it was finally time I guess. Time to get a " real " job. No more teaching skiing in Colorado or sailing in new York. No more liquior stores or renting bikes at the lake front. No more rapid successions of part time jobs. And no more university classes. I'll miss it all, of course. But, the future's beckon call does not cease. I'm pretty psyched. Bring it on future. Bring.... It.... On.
