Sunflairs

Due to my oversight on posting yesterday, I have decided to include two today. The two I choose both have sun flairs on them. I do not have a flair filter on my camera, rather I just noticed this tendency by mistake. I have grown to really enjoy using the sun as an addition to many of my shots. It seems to add something special, magical about a scene. Though I think I could reduce the effect if I took better care of my lens.

Danger

My guess is that this is a valid warning sign. Though I found out later that this still only qualifies as medium voltage. Good grief.

Monarch

Chasing butterflies turns out to be good fun. When it works out of course. I seem to run across more moths than butterflies, which I really haven't figure out the true difference between them. Taken in a patch of wildflowers in a boat graveyard, I was happy to chase this one for a good fifteen minutes.

Missed

A friend saw this shot and asked where the picture was taken. I thought this was great. He passes by this building on several occasions a week, and never took note. I suppose sharing the style of a building to someone who missed it is something to be proud of.

Train

A piece of sculpture is as about as abstract as I get for photography. I work on it occasionally but normally come out with out of place shots instead of anything beautiful.

804

It is enjoyable to think of black and white shots as a fallback. I must say that color can be a little much and the simplicity of black and white is very appealing. Focusing on composition and contrast is much easier for me than searching for 'wow' colors.
